Israeli forces killed an 18-year-old Palestinian during dawn raids in Ramallah and Al-Bireh. The Israeli military responded with live fire as violence continues to escalate in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Since the Gaza war began, over 620 Palestinians and 30 Israelis have been killed.
An 18-year-old Palestinian was killed by Israeli forces during dawn raids in Ramallah and Al-Bireh, hospital sources reported on Tuesday. The violence in the Israeli-occupied territory continues to simmer.
The Israeli military stated that they used live fire in response to suspects throwing rocks at soldiers who were demolishing houses of militants involved in a deadly shooting attack earlier this year. The violence in the West Bank and East Jerusalem had already been escalating before the Gaza war, which has further intensified the situation.
Israeli military raids, settler violence, and Palestinian street attacks have surged since the war began. According to Palestinian Health Ministry data, Israeli forces have killed over 620 Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, including armed fighters, stone-throwing youths, and civilians. In the same period, Palestinians have killed at least 30 Israelis, both civilians and soldiers, in Jerusalem and the West Bank, according to Israeli figures.
