The budget for the fiscal year 2024-2025, amounting to Rs 12,700 crore, focuses on infrastructure development, innovative educational schemes, job generation, and improving living conditions. Rangasamy also revealed plans to establish an IT park and develop industrial enterprises in Karasur and Sedarapet.

Opposition parties DMK and Congress staged a walkout protesting the government's inaction on enforcing a 50% reservation in private medical colleges.
