The tragic saga continues for the Fortson family as Andre Fortson, the teenage brother of a US Air Force airman, was shot and killed in the Atlanta area this week, police confirmed.
Andre, aged 16, was a senior airman Roger Fortson's sibling. He was found dead in the breezeway of a DeKalb County apartment complex after a shootout involving two groups, authorities reported. A 20-year-old suspect has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
Three months prior, Roger Fortson was fatally shot by Deputy Eddie Duran in Florida. Despite answering the door with a firearm pointed toward the floor, the internal investigation revealed Roger posed no threat, leading to Duran's termination. Civil rights attorney Ben Crump expressed the Fortson family's deep anguish over the repeated losses.
