CBI Arrests NBCC Deputy General Manager for Alleged Bribery

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Varun Popli, a deputy general manager of the National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC), for allegedly accepting a Rs five lakh bribe from a contractor, officials said Thursday.
Popli, who was posted in Ladakh, initially demanded Rs 11 lakh from the contractor, according to the CBI.
After negotiations, Popli allegedly agreed to take a part payment of Rs 5 lakh in Delhi. Officials stated that he was apprehended on Wednesday evening while accepting the bribe.
