Tamil Nadu Fisherman Dies in Mid-Sea Collision with Sri Lankan Navy

A fisherman from Tamil Nadu's Rameswaram has reportedly died, and another has gone missing after their boat, while fishing mid-sea, capsized following an alleged collision with a Sri Lankan navy ship, a senior official stated on Thursday.
The incident occurred when the mechanized fishing boat capsized as the Sri Lankan navy attempted to arrest them on charges of illegal fishing, explained a senior fisheries official. Four fishermen who were on board fell into the sea.
While one fisherman has reportedly died, another went missing, and two men have been detained by the Lankan authorities according to initial reports. "We are gathering particulars on the incident at sea and would submit a detailed report to the state government," the official confirmed.
