Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs and Minister of Power, Shri Manohar Lal, held a significant meeting with Shri D.K. Shivakumar, Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, in New Delhi today. The discussions centered around pressing urban development issues and infrastructure projects critical to Bengaluru and the broader Karnataka region.

Key topics of the meeting included strategies for traffic decongestion, advancements in solid waste management, enhancing flood resilience, and the extension of the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project. Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar specifically requested support for constructing flyovers to alleviate traffic congestion in Bengaluru.

In response, Union Minister Manohar Lal assured full support for Karnataka’s development initiatives. He committed to providing assistance in various areas, including the allocation of buses under the PM e-Bus Seva scheme to bolster the state's public transportation network.

Moreover, the Union Minister emphasized the importance of implementing Waste to Energy projects as a transformative approach to solid waste management. He highlighted that these projects would promote more efficient and sustainable waste management practices in Karnataka.

The meeting underscored a collaborative approach between the central and state governments to address urban challenges and enhance infrastructure, aiming to drive significant improvements in Karnataka's urban development and overall quality of life.
