The United States blames the Iran-backed Lebanese group Hezbollah for the rocket strike that killed 12 children and teenagers in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights on Saturday, the White House revealed on Sunday.

"This attack was conducted by Lebanese Hezbollah. It was their rocket, and launched from an area they control," affirmed National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson in a statement, adding that the White House has been in continuous talks with Israeli and Lebanese officials since the incident.

"The United States is also working on a diplomatic solution along the Blue Line that will end all attacks once and for all, and allow citizens on both sides of the border to safely return to their homes," she added.
