Displayed near his shop in Nachankheda, Burhanpur district, the banner read 'Dindahade English bolna seekhen (learn to speak English during daytime)' with an arrow pointing to the liquor store. The image of the banner rapidly gained traction online, drawing both amusement and condemnation.

Burhanpur District Collector Bhavya Mittal said the district administration directed the Excise Department to act on the matter, leading to a notice being served to the shop owner. Despite his claims of innocence and suggestions of a conspiracy, officials found his explanation unconvincing and imposed the fine for violating liquor license conditions.
