Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday demanded explanations from officials responsible for delays in compensating families affected by natural disasters.
Officials, including Additional District Magistrates from five districts and three Sub-Divisional Magistrates, are under scrutiny, according to an official statement.
Disaster expert Ashwini Kumar has been suspended for negligence in flood-related duties. These officials have two days to clarify their actions, failing which more stringent measures may be implemented.
Relief Commissioner GS Naveen stated that, following the Chief Minister's directive, disaster-related death compensations are issued within 24 hours post-surveillance. Stricter actions will be taken against those showing negligence, he added.
