In a chilling verdict, a court has handed down a death sentence to Hitesh Shettigar, a man found guilty of murdering his three children and attempting to kill his wife in Padmanoor village.
The crime, committed on June 23, 2022, was reportedly driven by resentment related to unemployment. Shettigar waited for his children to return from school before pushing them into a well, leading to their deaths. He attempted to murder his wife, Lakshmi, in the same manner.
Despite strong efforts to save herself by clinging to a pipe, the eldest daughter was tragically killed when Shettigar severed it. The court, presented with overwhelming evidence by Prosecutor Mohan Kumar, concluded that the heinous nature of the crime warranted the maximum punishment.
