The BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Edmonton has been defaced with anti-India graffiti, in a concerning incident amidst rising Hinduphobia in Canada.
The Consulate General of India in Vancouver condemned the vandalism and requested Canadian authorities to take prompt action. However, there has been no official response from the Bochasanwasi Aksharpurushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha, which runs the temple, or reports of investigative actions against the perpetrators.
Local MP Randy Boissonnault criticized the hate-fueled attack, emphasizing that such acts contradict Canada's values of tolerance and inclusion. The Canadian Hindu Chamber of Commerce condemned the vandalism as an affront to the Hindu community and urged the government to take effective measures against growing Hinduphobia.
