Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday criticized the Rajasthan government for the ongoing ''unannounced power cuts,'' which he claimed have severely distressed the state's residents. Gehlot expressed his concerns on social media platform X, urging the power minister to address the public's suffering due to mismanaged electricity and water supplies over the past eight months.

Gehlot pointed out a discrepancy regarding a social media post by Rajasthan's Chief Minister on July 12, which stated that Chhattisgarh had granted permission to use 91.21 hectares of forest land in the Hasdeo Aranya coalfield. However, the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister publicly denied granting such permission, suggesting a potential mistake by Rajasthan's CM.

The former chief minister demanded that the Rajasthan Chief Minister's Office clarify whether the post was an error or if the Chhattisgarh CM's denial was politically motivated. Gehlot emphasized that the people of Rajasthan deserve clear answers from their leaders.
