AAP on Thursday alleged that BJP MPs are responsible for making the poor homeless by orchestrating illegal home demolitions through departments under their control.

During a press conference, AAP leader and MLA Durgesh Pathak claimed that houses were 'demolished illegally' in Civil Lines, displacing residents who have lived there since independence. Pathak also highlighted that the railways have issued a notice to demolish the slums of Brar Square on July 22, yet BJP's New Delhi MP, Bansuri Swaraj, has not addressed the issue. The BJP has yet to respond to these allegations.

Pathak further alleged that a few days ago, the DDA had aggressively demolished thousands of homes in the Civil Lines area, with officials continuing to threaten further demolitions. He also pointed out notices from the railway department to tear down thousands of slums in Brar Square before July 22. Demanding investigation, Pathak queried whether these actions were being directed by Bansuri Swaraj or independently by the officers.

Pathak called for a thorough investigation and strict action against whoever is responsible. He emphasized that it is the responsibility of the BJP MPs, elected by the people of Delhi, to prevent these actions.
