Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, is set to be interrogated in jail by Punjab police after an anti-terrorism court granted his 10-day physical remand in connection to the May 9 riots.

Khan, who was arrested on Sunday in 12 terrorism-related cases, including an attack on a senior army officer, participated in the court proceedings via WhatsApp from Adiala Jail. He denied all charges, claiming political vendetta and injustice against his party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

The PTI alleges that Khan's ongoing detention is a ploy by the military establishment to prevent his release, despite his acquittal in other cases. The court has yet to rule on his request for a judicial inquiry into the May 9 riots.
