A tragic incident occurred on Monday when a police sub-inspector lost his life and a head constable was seriously injured after their vehicle collided with an LPG tanker on the Gauriganj-Raebareli road, as confirmed by officials.

The collision caused the LPG tanker to overturn, necessitating an evacuation within a one-kilometer radius by local authorities as a safety precaution. Additional Superintendent of Police of Amethi, Harendra Kumar, stated that the tanker, originating from Madhya Pradesh, was en route to Lucknow at the time of the accident.

Sub-Inspector Brij Bhushan, aged 58, died instantly at the scene, while the head constable, critically injured, has been transported to Lucknow for medical treatment. Authorities have called in a team of experts to manage the situation. The deceased officer's body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
