Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma distributed appointment letters to 41 youths on Monday, asserting that his government has provided jobs to 97,495 people over the last three years. These job letters, given ceremonially, were for positions ranging from Grade IV to college teachers in various educational institutions.

Himanta Biswa Sarma emphasized, 'With these appointments, we have given jobs to 97,495 since we took charge three years ago. We hope to give around 1.5 lakh jobs by the end of our tenure,' while addressing the new recruits.

The Chief Minister reaffirmed his commitment to the election promise of providing one lakh jobs within the government's tenure. Sarma also addressed criticisms, stating, 'Out of the 41 new recruits, none are from outside. All of them are purely Assamese youths. Those who criticize us that we are recruiting people from outside can check the DNA of the new employees.' He further claimed that transparent recruitment has led to an increase in students opting for higher studies and a decrease in dropout rates.
