Eight individuals were arrested in Hyderabad for the alleged assault and abduction of an IT firm founder, prompted by unpaid salaries to employees, police reported on Sunday.

The accused confined the founder in a hotel and stole laptops, cars, and other belongings from his home before he was rescued, according to authorities. The incident occurred on the night of July 9-10.

Police have arrested a business consultant and several software employees for their involvement in trespassing, wrongful restraint, abduction, and theft. All stolen items were retrieved, including 84 laptops, four cars, five phones, and three passports.

The founder's mother reported the financial issues leading to the non-payment of salaries to 1,200 employees, inciting retaliatory actions from those involved in job consultancies. Investigations are ongoing to uncover financial transactions and disputes that led to the violent acts.

Authorities noted that those affected had previously lodged a complaint against the IT firm's founder for job fraud, which is under investigation at Raidurgam Police Station.
