Jitendra Singh Calls for Self-Introspection to Combat Terrorism in Jammu

Union Minister Jitendra Singh emphasized that solely blaming Pakistan for the rise in terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir is insufficient. Singh advocated for self-introspection to combat social evils aiding terrorism and highlighted the government's strategy, including army deployment, to restore peace in the region and tackle illegal activities linked to terrorism.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Saturday emphasized that blaming Pakistan alone for the surge in terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir is inadequate, urging for self-reflection to eliminate illegal activities benefitting terrorism in the Union Territory.

The government is implementing a new strategy, including deploying the army in higher reaches, to ensure peace is restored in Kathua within a week, where terrorists recently ambushed, killing and injuring army personnel.

While condemning Pakistan's actions, Singh stressed the need for societal responsibility to combat terrorism and addressed local illegal activities like drug trafficking, illegal mining, and bovine smuggling that fuel terrorism.
