President Droupadi Murmu on Friday urged probationers from the Military Engineering Service (MES) to incorporate climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies while building infrastructure.

Speaking to the officers at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Murmu highlighted MES's significant role in national security, serving not only the Indian Army but various other units of the Ministry of Defence. She stressed the need for minimal carbon footprints in their projects and commended MES for its ongoing efforts in that direction.

Murmu stated that the success of MES officers would be determined by the reliability and quality of the infrastructure they provide for defense forces. She advised them to remain vigilant, uphold high-quality standards, and use the country's resources efficiently and morally to strengthen national security.
