Both leaders endorsed ongoing efforts to maintain open lines of communication and discussed plans for an upcoming call between U.S. President Joe Biden and President Xi in the next few weeks, according to the statement.
Sullivan and Xi addressed several critical issues, including tensions in the Taiwan Strait, the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, and territorial disputes in the South China Sea.
