An explosion at a defense weapons facility in South Arkansas left at least two people injured and another missing on Wednesday, as confirmed by the facility's operators.
A spokesperson for General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems disclosed that the incident took place at their Camden location, about 86 miles south of Little Rock.
"We are working closely with first responders and can confirm two injuries and one missing individual," said Berkley Whaley of General Dynamics. "We are fully cooperating with authorities as they investigate."
The state Department of Emergency Management is monitoring the situation and is prepared to assist. One patient is in stable condition at Ouachita County Medical Center, while another was airlifted to a facility out of state.
