Two unknown assailants reportedly fired multiple bullet rounds outside the residence of a builder in northeast Delhi, police said on Tuesday. The incident took place at around 8.48 PM on Monday.

According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (northeast), Joy Tirkey, the builder named Arif Ali had previously received an extortion call but chose not to file an official complaint. The suspects, riding a scooter, fired three to four rounds at Ali's house in the Welcome area before fleeing the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, although two empty shell casings were found on site.

Ali mentioned that a local ruffian had been threatening him and demanding Rs 10 lakh in extortion money. The police are currently examining CCTV footage and ongoing efforts are being made to apprehend the culprits.
