In a heart-wrenching incident on Sunday, a woman and her 22-year-old daughter allegedly ended their lives by consuming insecticide in Arai village, police reported.

Suman Tiwari, 42, and her daughter Komal consumed sulphas tablets at their home. They were immediately taken to a hospital in Prayagraj district but succumbed to the poison, said Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Tejveer Singh.

The family, burdened by a Rs 2.50 lakh loan and financial pressure, had no source of income. Additionally, ongoing property disputes and tensions within the family contributed to the tragedy. Suman's 18-year-old son Golu, who also ingested insecticide, is currently undergoing treatment.
