Superintendent of Police of Ballia, Devranjan Verma, confirmed, ''After hearing arguments from both sides, the court of Additional Sessions Judge Gyanprakash Tiwari convicted Munna Singh and sentenced him to life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 11,000.'' The other three accused were acquitted due to lack of sufficient evidence, he added.
