Deceased Akshay Birhade, hailing from Amalner, collapsed during a 25-meter run at Balegaon. Recruitment for the State Reserve Police Force was in progress, senior inspector Sandeepan Shinde from Shil Daighar police station disclosed.

Shinde further stated that Birhade was immediately taken for post mortem and an accidental death case has been recorded. Notably, more than 17.76 lakh individuals have applied for 17,471 constabulary positions in Maharashtra, with 38,078 applications for 661 posts in Thane alone. The recruitment drive commenced on June 19.
