Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced on Sunday that the state's rigorous monitoring efforts have resulted in saving over 7,000 cows in the past month.

Speaking to reporters in Bhopal on the death anniversary of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Yadav underscored the government's commitment to stringent law enforcement, particularly concerning cow protection laws.

''Clear instructions have been given to all districts regarding the enforcement of these laws. Individuals violating the cow slaughter prohibition will face strict penalties. State-level supervision of enforcement actions is ongoing,'' he said.

Highlighting the state's achievements, Yadav noted that more than 550 cases related to the prohibition of cow slaughter have been registered, saving over 7,000 cows.

''We have taken action against hundreds involved in such activities, and our efforts will continue relentlessly,'' Yadav added.

This announcement follows a recent incident in Seoni district where carcasses of over 40 cows were discovered. Five individuals have been arrested so far, and an investigation led by an ADG-level officer is underway.

The state government has employed stringent measures, invoking the National Security Act (NSA) against those involved and reassigning officials in Seoni and Morena districts.
