Security forces successfully thwarted an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district, officials confirmed on Saturday. The targeted area was the Gohallan sector of north Kashmir's Uri region.
According to officials, army personnel had noticed suspicious movement along the LoC. When challenged, the militants initiated gunfire, which was met with a swift response from the Army.
An exchange of fire ensued for some time before it ceased. Security forces believe that two militants were neutralized in the gunfight. Currently, the Army maintains a tight cordon in the area and is making efforts to recover the bodies, which have yet to be found.
