The body was discovered lying near a railway track in the Sitarampuram area of Epurupalem village.
According to Bapatla District Superintendent of Police Vakul Jindal, the victim had gone out between 5:30 am and 5:45 am to attend nature's call but did not return home, leading her family to search for her. They eventually found her dead.
SP Jindal conducted an inquiry at the scene and indicated that initial suspicions point towards rape before the murder. A case has been registered and five police teams have been assembled to investigate this grievous crime.
