The Government of South Africa has expressed its deepest appreciation to all citizens, visitors, and dignitaries who contributed to the success of the 2024 Presidential Inauguration, whether in person or through various media channels.

In a statement released by the Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) on Wednesday, it highlighted the significant role played by South Africans across the nation and those who watched the event on television, radio, and online.

"Your participation has been very instrumental in making the event successful and memorable," GCIS stated.

The government also extended heartfelt gratitude to visitors and dignitaries who attended the inauguration, emphasizing their presence as a symbol of solidarity and support for South Africa's growth and development.

Nomonde Mnukwa, Acting Director-General of GCIS, emphasized the importance of the inauguration not just for welcoming a new President but also for marking a new chapter in the country's history and collective progress.

"We celebrated not just a new President today, but a new chapter in our nation's history. This moment underscores our commitment to building a capable and honest administration that serves all South Africans," Mnukwa affirmed.

GCIS reiterated the government's dedication to fostering social cohesion and unity among citizens, urging continued collaboration towards building a better, more inclusive South Africa.

"Let us continue to move forward with renewed purpose and commitment to build a better South Africa for all," GCIS concluded.
