A tragedy struck the industrial town of Bhiwandi in Thane, Maharashtra, as a 49-year-old worker succumbed to electrocution at a local powerloom unit, police confirmed on Friday.
Identified as Hari Mohan Singh, the worker received a fatal electric shock at around 8 pm on Thursday night while at work. Despite immediate medical intervention, Singh was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
The authorities have sent the body for a post-mortem examination to a government hospital, and an accidental death case has been registered by the Bhoiwada police station.
