A history-sheeter was apprehended for allegedly murdering a man he harbored an old enmity with from their days in Tihar Jail, authorities reported on Thursday.

The murder, executed on June 6, involved two accomplices, one of whom was a 15-year-old juvenile now also in custody. 'Moidul, a Jahangirpuri resident, was murdered by Jitender (26) and his associates, Rohit and a juvenile, because of previous conflicts,' said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Satish Kumar.

During their incarceration at Tihar Jail, Moidul had reportedly assaulted Jitender with a sharp weapon. On June 6, Jitender retaliated by stabbing Moidul in broad daylight.

Multiple police teams were mobilized to capture the suspects, and during the intervening night of June 6 and 7, Jitender's juvenile accomplice was detained.

With the juvenile in custody, the focus shifted to locating Jitender, who was initially at large with his phone switched off, the DCP added.

Jitender was finally arrested on June 8 in Mangolpuri, according to the officer. Jitender already faces 25 criminal cases, including illegal arms possession, robbery, and attempted murder.
