The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested Jaspreet Singh, a key operative linked to a Canada-based Khalistani terrorist, during a series of multi-state searches conducted on Thursday.

The accused, Jaspreet Singh, was apprehended from Ferozepur district in Punjab, as confirmed by an NIA statement.

During the operation, the NIA seized a 32 bore revolver, 69 cartridges of various bores, 100 gm heroin, 100 gm opium, Rs 2,20,500 cash, and multiple digital devices from Singh, who is associated with designated terrorist Lakhbir Singh Sandhu, also known as Landa.

In its crackdown on the proscribed Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), the NIA conducted extensive searches across Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Punjab, leading to the arrest of Jaspreet Singh. Premises connected with 10 suspects were also searched.

The NIA had registered a case on July 10 of last year, uncovering Landa's involvement in terror conspiracies organized by the banned Khalistani group.

The investigation revealed smuggling and arms supply across international borders and within the country, along with fund transfers to implement terrorist acts.
