Police on Friday arrested Jay Khemka, the director of Chamundi Explosives Pvt Ltd, along with factory manager Sagar Deshmukh, a day after a devastating blast at the unit located near Nagpur claimed six lives, an official confirmed.
Union minister Nitin Gadkari, who visited the affected site, stated, 'The factory management has committed to providing Rs 25 lakh to the families of each deceased, in addition to Rs 10 lakh from the state government.' The explosion occurred in Dhamna village, about 25 km from Nagpur, on Thursday at around 1 pm.
Legal proceedings under various IPC sections, including 286, 304(a), and 338, have been filed against Khemka and Deshmukh. The manager and director were subsequently produced in court following their detention.
