Authorities have detained the director and manager of Chamundi Explosives Pvt Ltd after a deadly explosion at their factory located near Nagpur. The incident took place on Thursday at approximately 1 pm, leading to the deaths of six workers who were in the packaging unit at the time of the blast.

Jay Khemka (49), the director of the explosives unit, along with factory manager Sagar Deshmukh, have been apprehended and will be presented in court, an official announced. The factory, situated in Dhamna village within the Hingna police station jurisdiction, is about 25 km from Nagpur city.

Initially, nine injured individuals were admitted to two private hospitals, where five women and a man succumbed to their injuries during treatment, police confirmed. The Hingna police have registered a case against Khemka and Deshmukh under IPC sections 286, 304 (a), and 338 for criminal negligence.
