Just hours after taking the oath of office, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu took significant action, endorsing the disbursement of Rs 100 crore under the Chief Minister's Social Security Scheme (CMSSS). This initiative aims to benefit about 80,000 people throughout the state.

The CMSSS, a cornerstone of the state government, extends pensions to those above 60 years old, widows, and differently abled persons, reflecting the administration's commitment to social welfare.

"Given the delays in the state budget preparations due to the general elections, it is paramount that CMSSS benefits reach those intended without further ado," Khandu affirmed. The state remains devoted to serving its most vulnerable populations under the Antyodaya principles.

In the previous financial year, Rs 90 crore facilitated the support of 56,030 elderly individuals, 8,782 widows, and 3,950 differently abled people. Launched in 2019, the scheme ensures direct bank transfers to provide quick and effective assistance to beneficiaries.
