The Cybersecurity Council of the UAE has announced a successful intervention against a coordinated cyberattack that targeted 634 entities across governmental and private sectors. The attacks sought to extract data from key strategic sectors within the nation.
As revealed by Mohamed AlKuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity for the UAE Government, a cyber actor identified as 'rose87168' claimed to infiltrate Oracle Cloud's systems, affecting approximately six million customer records globally, including critical user password data.
The council has activated emergency cybersystems in cooperation with national authorities to bolster the UAE's defenses. They call on all institutions to heighten security protocols, remain alert, and report any suspicious cyber activities immediately to counter these increasing threats.
