Global NHRIs Gather in India for Human Rights Capacity Building
The NHRC, in partnership with the MEA, is hosting a six-day ITEC Executive Capacity Building Programme for senior NHRI officials from eight countries. The initiative aims to bolster human rights advocacy through shared best practices and knowledge on issues such as complaint management and sustainable development.

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) together with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) will conduct a six-day Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Executive Capacity Building Programme aimed at senior officers from National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) of eight countries starting on November 11, 2024.
The programme, crafted for senior officials from the Global South, will host participants from Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Jordan. It intends to deepen engagement in defending and advancing human rights by drawing on India's extensive experience and traditions of empathy and compassion.
Participants will benefit from sessions on diverse human rights topics such as NHRC's online complaint management, investigation techniques, evolving human rights issues, and the roles of business and technology in sustainable development. Esteemed speakers, including former NHRC members and senior Indian officials, will lead discussions to enhance practical and theoretical understanding.
