In an effort to bolster collaborative ties, TRENDS Research and Advisory, in partnership with the Institute of Party History and Literature of the Chinese Communist Party and Bayt Alhekma Culture Group, organized a scientific symposium titled "Future Cooperation between Chinese and Arab Think Tanks in the New Era." The event took place at TRENDS' headquarters in Abu Dhabi.

A high-profile Chinese delegation, led by Sun Dongsheng, Deputy Chairman of the Institute of Party History and Literature of the Chinese Communist Party, attended along with Zhang Yiming, China's Ambassador to the UAE, among other experts. The symposium underscored the crucial role of intellectual and cultural exchanges in boosting mutual understanding and developing research platforms between the two regions.

Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, highlighted past initiatives like the TRENDS BRICS Think Tanks Summit in Moscow, illustrating the necessity of think tank cooperation in formulating strategies to address global issues. Sun Dongsheng reiterated the call for strengthened partnerships aimed at achieving mutual modernisation and a "community of shared destiny."
