UAE Leads With Massive Humanitarian Aid for Lebanon Amid Crisis

Faced with the devastating impact of Israel's recent attacks, Lebanon is enduring a severe humanitarian crisis, prompting a large-scale response from the United Arab Emirates. The UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, orchestrated an aid campaign called 'the UAE stands with Lebanon' worth AED 100 million, spanning over three weeks.
The operation has been meticulously coordinated with global bodies such as the International Federation of the Red Cross, WHO, UNICEF, and UNHCR. The campaign underscores the UAE's strategy of employing both state and public funds, energizing a collective of humanitarian entities operating across the Emirates. Gathering resources and manpower, the Emirati public showed unprecedented support for the initiative.
Helmed by Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the initiative saw vibrant participation from 24 charitable organizations and was powered by over 16,000 volunteers. Their collective efforts have dispatched 2635 tons of crucial aid via 15 planes and a ship. The package includes food, medical supplies, and essentials for Lebanese citizens and refugees in Syria.
