The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has scheduled a peaceful protest rally in Kharan, Balochistan, to demand justice for the rising number of enforced disappearances attributed to the Pakistan armed forces. The rally is set to begin at 3 PM on Friday, following the recent abduction of Ubaidullah Tagapi, the son of Haji Barkat Tagapi.

The crackdown by authorities has escalated tensions, particularly after Thursday's events when armed forces allegedly abducted Ubaidullah. In response, his family organized a protest which faced state interference and forceful dispersal. In a statement posted on X, the BYC condemned the normalization of such disappearances and called for collective action, urging the people of Kharan to join the Friday protest.

Similar protests have emerged across Balochistan. In Panjgur district, a young graduate, Haseeb Baloch, was also reported to have disappeared, allegedly at the hands of law enforcement. Demonstrations in Panjgur ended in violence, with state authorities reportedly abducting participants. Under the banner "Breaking Silence: Standing Against Enforced Disappearances," protests have spanned Karachi, Hub, Turbat, and Khuzdar, highlighting the urgent human rights concerns.
