The White House has raised alarm over the presence of at least 3,000 North Korean soldiers in eastern Russia, training for a potential role in the conflict against Ukraine. White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby confirmed the situation, saying there is a 'highly concerning probability' they may join Russian forces.

These soldiers reportedly traveled by sea from Wonsan, North Korea, to Vladivostok, Russia, continuing to various military training sites. Although no combat involvement is yet confirmed, Kirby stressed the alarming implications of their presence, suggesting it could indicate Russia's growing desperation amid mounting battlefield losses.

In light of these developments, the U.S. continues its steadfast support for Ukraine. Kirby highlighted the delivery of over USD 800 million in security assistance, including air defense systems and vehicles. Alongside, the U.S. plans to impose new sanctions targeting Russia's wartime enablers outside its borders, emphasizing sustained international efforts against Russian aggression.
