In a historic move, the Washington-based Sindhi Foundation is preparing to pay homage to Sindh's century-old struggle for freedom. The event, set to take place in front of the iconic Washington Monument, aims to collectively recognize the sacrifices of Sindhi activists from political, cultural, and social spheres.

The foundation's Executive Director, Sufi Laghari, expressed dismay that no group has previously honored the Sindhi activists who championed Sindh's freedom. Laghari outlined the brutal challenges faced by these activists, emphasizing that their sacrifices were for Sindh's cause, currently hindered by Pakistani occupation.

Highlighting the initiative's scope, Laghari revealed the collection of over 110 photographs of affected individuals, showcasing just a fraction of thousands who suffered under oppressive regimes. These visuals will highlight struggles against injustices like martial law and totalitarian regimes, extending to state-sponsored violence.

The Sindhi Foundation stresses that the stories of these activists resonate beyond individual struggles, underscoring a collective effort for Sindh's betterment. By acknowledging these sacrifices, the foundation hopes to add depth to the understanding of Sindh's cultural and historical narrative.

Inviting Sindhis, human rights activists, media representatives, and social workers, the foundation calls for a tribute to those who've lost lives and careers for Sindh. This gathering promises a poignant moment of gratitude and reflection on their unwavering commitment.
