In the lead-up to the BRICS Summit in Russia, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov emphasized the significance of the Russia-India-China (RIC) grouping, despite it not having convened recently. His comments came in an interview published by Argumenty I Fakty.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Russia from October 22 to 23 for the 16th BRICS Summit. This marks his second visit to Russia this year, following a bilateral visit in July. Lavrov's remarks underscore BRICS' evolving economic and political influence.
Highlighting BRICS' role, Lavrov noted its mission to boost member nations' collective potential. He confirmed that discussions are underway for a new BRICS partner country category, enhancing the group's global project alignments.
