The Indian Embassy in Washington is spearheading a new initiative, 'MARG' (Mentoring for Academic Excellence and Research Guidance), aimed at creating virtual mentorship opportunities for Indian students and researchers. The program serves as a bridge to connect them with esteemed universities across the United States.

This initiative, put forth in collaboration with India's Ministry of Education and the University Grants Commission, promises to bridge the educational divide faced by Indian students from smaller cities looking to access premier US institutions. By offering exposure to the latest advancements in their respective fields, MARG hopes to nurture knowledge, career opportunities, skilling, and provide direct access to research insights from field experts.

The series kicked off with a session featuring Deputy Chief of Mission Ambassador Sripriya Ranganathan, who emphasized the expanding collaboration between India and the US in critical and emerging technology sectors. These encompass areas like Semiconductors, AI & ML, and more. Indian-origin faculty from prominent institutions like Stanford and Purdue have already joined this effort, underlining the mutual commitment to academic and technological advancement.
