In a recent statement, the Lok Sabha Secretariat denied reports alleging that the carcade of Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness was halted at the gates of the Parliament House. It was clarified that the Jamaican leader was granted the requisite protocol and facilitation during his visit.

PM Holness's itinerary included tours of notable locations such as the two Chambers, Constitution Hall, the Central Hall in Samvidhan Sadan, and other key areas in the newly inaugurated Parliament Building. Earlier, he also participated in the Ganga Aarti in Varanasi and explored the Trade Facilitation Centre, Craft Museum, and Sarnath Museum.

The primary agenda of Holness's visit was to deepen bilateral relations with India. Expressing admiration for India's culture and spirituality, he reiterated the desire to boost cooperation, highlighting India's burgeoning economy and innovative society. The trip also underscored the role of 'cricket diplomacy' in people-to-people ties. Both nations anticipate strengthened economic ties and cooperative initiatives.
