IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi has warned Hezbollah that a ground offensive is imminent, stating that Israeli soldiers' "military boots will enter enemy territory," according to the Times of Israel. Halevi's comments follow a missile attack by Hezbollah on central Israel early Wednesday, which prompted Israeli airstrikes. These airstrikes have resulted in 569 deaths and 1,835 injuries, Al Jazeera reported.

During a military drill simulating an invasion, Halevi addressed the 7th Armored Brigade, asserting, "You can hear the planes above, we are attacking all day. This is to prepare the area for your potential entry into Lebanon and to continue striking Hezbollah."

Halevi further warned, "Hezbollah today expanded its range of fire. They will receive a very strong response. We will continue our attacks to ensure the safe return of displaced residents of the north." He emphasized that the ground maneuver is a key strategy, and Israeli troops will enter Hezbollah-prepared villages as large military outposts. "You will go in, destroy the enemy, and decisively dismantle their infrastructure," he added.

Hezbollah confirmed it launched a Qadr 1 ballistic missile targeting Mossad headquarters in Tel Aviv, though it was shot down. This marks the first ballistic missile fired by Hezbollah towards Israel, CNN reported. Meanwhile, Israeli airstrikes in Gaza have killed at least 50 Palestinians in the last 24 hours, according to Gaza's Health Ministry.

An Israeli official revealed that potential ceasefire talks with Hezbollah are a significant factor in Prime Minister Netanyahu's current trip to the UN General Assembly in New York. Notably, Netanyahu has not denied US push for a 21-day ceasefire, highlighting Israel's preference for a diplomatic solution.
