Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese expressed anticipation for engaging with Quad partners to address the pressing challenges facing the Indo-Pacific region. Albanese is slated to visit the United States for the Quad Leaders Summit in Delaware on September 21.

The summit will gather leaders from the Quad nations: Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India, U.S. President Joe Biden, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. This diplomatic initiative aims to foster cooperation among Australia, India, Japan, and the United States.

An official statement from Albanese's office highlighted the focus on advancing the Quad's agenda through practical initiatives. Albanese emphasized the importance of collaboration, saying, "We look forward to discussing ways to strengthen our cooperation to address the Indo-Pacific's challenges and opportunities." He reiterated Australia's commitment to a prosperous and stable Indo-Pacific governed by established rules and norms.

Albanese noted, "Together, we aim to shape a region where cooperation, trade, and mutual thriving are the norms." The summit marks the fourth in-person meeting of the Quad leaders, with India set to host the summit in 2025.

The White House confirmed President Biden would host the summit, highlighting the President's personal rapport with the Quad leaders.
