One person was killed and several others were trapped inside a residential building after a massive fire erupted at an illegal petrol pump in Karachi on Wednesday, according to ARY News. The fire broke out in Karachi's Shah Faisal area, endangering the lives of numerous residents.
Initial reports suggest that the petrol pump was operating illegally beneath a residential building. As the blaze spread, it left numerous people stranded inside.
Rescue teams are actively working to evacuate those trapped in the building, but their efforts are being hindered by incessant smoke billowing from the structure, ARY News reported. Additional fire tenders have been deployed to the area to aid the ongoing operation, and one fire department unit has been dispatched to extinguish the flames. In a tragic turn of events, motorcycles parked near the gas station also caught fire.
