Soreide, the Leader of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence in Norway's Parliament, also praised the trade agreement between India and EFTA nations.

Speaking to ANI, Soreide remarked on the significant progress made in discussions covering geopolitics and regional issues. She noted the growing collaboration between India and Norway, emphasizing the 'huge potential' of the bilateral relationship. Soreide welcomed the Free Trade Agreement between India and the European Free Trade Association, noting that it would stimulate investment and deeper ties.

'The India-Norway relationship has enormous scope for growth,' Soreide stated. 'Norwegian companies are eager to invest in India, and joint efforts in climate change, technology, green transition, and ocean management are crucial.' Earlier this year, India signed a USD 100 billion Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement with the EFTA bloc, promising substantial investment and employment generation. The upcoming India-Nordic summit in Oslo is expected to further boost collaboration between the nations.
