In a concerning development, Taiwan's Ministry of National Defence (MND) reported the detection of 21 Chinese military aircraft, seven naval vessels, and one official ship operating in close proximity to Taiwan from 6 am on Sunday to 6 am on Monday. According to the MND, 16 aircraft from the People's Liberation Army (PLA) crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait, entering Taiwan's northern, southwestern, and eastern Air Defence Identification Zone (ADIZ).

In response to these incursions, Taiwan swiftly deployed its aircraft and naval ships and activated coastal-based missile systems to monitor the situation. On platform X, Taiwan's MND stated, "21 PLA aircraft, 7 PLAN vessels, and 1 official ship were detected around Taiwan as of 6 a.m. (UTC+8). 16 aircraft crossed the median line into Taiwan's ADIZ. The situation is being monitored closely."

This incident marks the latest in a series of provocations by Beijing. Since September 2020, China has ramped up military activities around Taiwan, employing gray zone tactics designed to exert pressure without direct confrontation. Taiwan's President Lai Ching-te criticized China's intentions, asserting that they aim to alter the global order rather than address territorial issues.
